Who is Arie Stavchansky?
Arie Stavchansky is the founder and CEO of DataClay. Arie is a multidisciplinary professional with experience in coding software applications, web application design, and development.
He holds a PhD in Digital Media Studies and Production from The University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a Master of Design in Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. in Radio, Television, and Film from UT Austin. After completing his Ph.D., he taught graduate and undergraduate students.
Before launching DataClay, he worked at LeadingReach as the Director of Engineering.

Arie comes from a background in visual effects design and motion graphics.
He has worked with studios in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Austin, Texas, creating content. During his time in the industry, he noticed that many producers he worked with had to revise content for multiple languages, which was a tedious task.
As a solution, he developed software to automate this process for video producers.
How did Arie build the initial version of DataClay?
Arie created a beta version, which he released to industry professionals. They appreciated the approach and recommended additional features. He developed a generalized product that people could install and eventually documented it. He connected with some resellers who sold the software licenses.

What was the growth strategy for DataClay and how did they scale?
Arie partnered with a New York-based software reseller that focused on broadcasters and high-end video post-production facilities. The reseller featured the product on their site, enabling DataClay to sell their software.
After noticing that customers were making purchases, DataClay set up a storefront on its domain and began social media marketing efforts to drive traffic to its site. social media updates included feature releases, promos, and general product updates.
